The challenge
A SaaS startup website has a few seconds to explain a product the visitor has never seen. Here the audience is CFOs, auditors, consultants and controllers who work in Excel every day. They are sceptical, they have seen many tools, and they want to understand what they gain in time and fewer errors before they hand over their email.
Calkin sells mainly in Sweden but also targets international clients, so it needed Swedish and English with correct hreflang. The team publishes articles and webinars regularly, so the site had to be easy to update, load very fast and send every demo request straight to the company's CRM.
What we built
We built the site in Next.js with React, hosted on Vercel, with pre-rendered pages so they open almost instantly. The homepage explains in one sentence what Calkin does: it documents an Excel file and builds a map of all formula dependencies. Concrete examples follow, such as how long it takes to understand a workbook with and without the tool.
We built a business value calculator where visitors enter their team size, the hours spent in Excel and the average salary, and see an estimate in Swedish kronor with an explanation of how it was calculated. The pricing page shows the plan for up to 5 users and the Enterprise plan, with buttons for a free trial and a demo.
The "News" section holds articles, webinars and recordings, with filters by type. The demo and contact forms connect to HubSpot, and tracking runs through Google Tag Manager. There are also product, FAQ, team and legal pages, all in two languages.
