The challenge
A direct booking website for an Airbnb has one simple goal: guests book the place directly, so the owner does not pay commission on every night. For that to happen, it has to be as easy as Airbnb or Booking: you see right away which days are free, what they cost, and you pay securely.
Lilaki is a small apartment in a city that is not a classic tourist destination. Guests come for work, to visit someone or for a short city break, and many are from abroad. So the site had to show what the city offers, explain how to get there and be readable in many languages.
What we built
We built the site on WordPress with Elementor Pro, in English. For bookings we set up WP Booking System Premium with an availability calendar for the next twelve months and more. Guests pick dates, see the total cost, fill in the number of guests and special requests, and go to the WooCommerce checkout, where they pay by card through Stripe.
The apartment page describes the studio, the kitchen, the bathroom with walk-in shower and the amenities, such as Wi-Fi, Smart TV, washing machine and paid private parking. There are pages for the gallery, location and booking policy, plus a "Things to do in Larisa" guide with the Ancient Theatre, Alcazar park, the museums and the city's cafés.
With GTranslate guests switch between 16 languages, including Greek, German, French, Italian and Spanish, and the browser language is detected automatically. The homepage shows guest reviews and "Book now" buttons in every section.
