The challenge
A restaurant website is usually opened on a phone, a few hours before dinner. Visitors want to see three things: what the place cooks, what the space looks like and how to book a table. If the menu is an unreadable PDF or bookings are by phone only, many move on to the next restaurant on the map.
A restaurant with its own culinary identity also has more to say: where the dishes come from, what role the bar plays, whether it hosts private events. This needs to come across in few, well-chosen words, without slowing down someone who just wants to book.
What we built
We built the site in WordPress with Elementor Pro. The homepage presents the kitchen, the menu, the bar with cocktails and wines, and the Private Dining & Events section for private dinners and business meetings. The "Book a table" button stays in the header on every page.
The menu is a regular page, not a PDF, split into starters, salads, raw dishes, mains, cuts, desserts and drinks, so it reads easily on a phone and Google can see it. The bookings page has a form with the number of guests, date and time, and the booking goes to the restaurant's email.
We added Philosophy, Gallery and Contact pages with opening hours, phone and a Google Maps link, plus an English version of the homepage for foreign visitors. SEO runs on Yoast with schema.org structured data, and we used a plugin that removes accents from Greek capitals, so headings display correctly in Greek.
