The challenge
A website for a direct trade coffee roaster has a story to tell that doesn't fit on a label. Customers paying for specialty coffee want to know which country and community it comes from, how the bean was processed and what share of the price goes back to the farmer. If that isn't visible, the coffee looks like any other on the shelf.
Rooted Impact Coffee is a small business that imports very small lots, just a few kilos from each origin. The catalogue changes with the season and availability, so the site had to be easy for the owner to update himself. As a food business in Denmark, it also had to show its food safety inspection report (Smiley report) and terms of sale.
What we built
We set up the site in WordPress with Elementor Pro, the Hello Elementor theme and a sticky header that stays visible on scroll. The homepage presents the message "Exceptional Coffee. Meaningful Origins.", the featured coffees and a note on the price of 100 kroner per bag, explaining that at least one third goes to the growers. There is also space for announcements, such as the 2026 Advent calendar.
The Featured coffees page is the catalogue. Each coffee has its country and region, such as Baan Teemule in Thailand, Shebedino in Ethiopia or Sakami in Kenya, processing type, roast, kilos available and price per 220 grams. Coffees that haven't arrived yet are shown as "soon in stock".
The Direct Trade and About pages explain the business's philosophy and how it started. We added FAQ and blog pages for future articles, a contact form with name, email, phone and message, and in the footer the Terms of Service, Return Policy and the Smiley report.
