The challenge
An online booking system for a repair service that goes to the customer is more complex than a simple calendar. FanoExelixis vans travel anywhere in Attica, and a day cannot fit the same number of jobs if it is a small dent or a car damaged by hail. With phone calls and messages, scheduling for business clients with vehicle fleets quickly turns into chaos.
The business also has three different audiences: companies sending vehicles from their fleet, owners with hail damage, and technicians who want to train in PDR. It needed a public site that explains the method to everyone, and a separate tool where only approved partners book and manage appointments.
What we built
The public site was built in WordPress with Elementor Pro. It has About Us, PDR for Businesses, PDR for Hail and PDR Training pages, the last describing the 4-week programme with 1-to-1 training. The Articles section explains what PDR is, how hail damage is repaired and which tools a technician needs, and there is a gallery of sample work. The "Online booking for partners" button in the menu leads to the booking system.
For bookings we wrote a custom plugin from scratch on a separate WordPress install at booking.fanoexelixis.gr. A company submits a partnership request with company name, VAT number, contact person, phone, head office and Attica area from a list. Once approved, it logs in to its own portal and books appointments for its vehicles.
Availability is calculated in slots, not cars: each job type, from simple PDR to heavy hail damage, takes up a different share of the day's capacity. Admin has its own environment, separate from the client portal, for approving requests, areas, job types, day exceptions and urgent jobs, with email notifications.
