E-shop prices: what you are really comparing
When you put two e-shop quotes side by side, you aren't just comparing two numbers. You're comparing exactly what you'll receive, how well it's built, how easy it will be to manage and whether the store can actually bring in sales or will simply exist online. A €400 quote without card payments and without a courier connection isn't cheaper than a €700 quote that includes everything. It just leaves the work for later.
At WebDragon we don't build e-shops so you can say you have a store on the internet. We build them to sell, load fast, inspire trust and grow with the business. Our base price is €700 + VAT for a WooCommerce store with up to 50 products added, card payments, ACS or ELTA Courier (Greek couriers), a feed for Skroutz (Greece's largest price-comparison site) and an optional connection to myDATA (Greece's tax e-invoicing platform), ready in 10 business days.
On top of this base we add whatever your case needs: supplier XML connections from €150 + VAT per supplier, a second language, extra features or monthly maintenance from €50 + VAT. Below we explain each factor one by one, so you know where you'll end up before you call us.
- Exactly what you receive, written in the quote
- How well it's set up technically and for SEO
- How easily you can manage it yourself
- Whether it's built to sell or just to exist
Number of products, store structure and design
An e-shop with 30 products and 5 categories is one thing; one with 2,000 products, filters, variations, brands, sizes and colours is another. For €700 we add up to 50 products ourselves, with photos, descriptions and variations. If you have more, we don't add them one by one: we import them from Excel or from your supplier's XML, which is faster and cheaper for you.
The bigger the catalogue, the more organisation matters. A spare parts store with 3,000 product codes needs filters by model, good search and categories the customer understands, or they get lost before finding what they want. A cosmetics e-shop with 40 products mainly needs good product pages.
Design isn't there to look nice. It's there to lead the visitor to a purchase: a clean homepage with clear paths to the categories, product pages with everything needed to decide, clear shipping and returns, reviews and a checkout without unnecessary steps. A fully custom design raises the cost, but it often raises sales too. The €700 price includes design adapted to your brand on a proven structure.
- Up to 50 products added by us in the base price
- Bulk import from Excel or XML for larger catalogues
- Categories, filters and search to suit the catalogue
- Clear product pages, shipping and returns
Payments, couriers and myDATA: what the Greek market costs
"Adding card payments" isn't always a single button. Depending on the provider, whether Viva Wallet, Everypay (Greek payment providers) or your bank, it needs different setup, checks and test transactions. In the base price we connect one card provider, with Apple Pay and Google Pay where supported, plus cash on delivery and bank transfer.
For shipping, the cost depends on how complex your rules are. Charges by zone (mainland Greece, islands, abroad), by weight or volumetric weight, cash on delivery, BoxNow lockers (a Greek parcel-locker network), tracking and automatic voucher creation. The connection to ACS or ELTA Courier is included. If you work with Geniki Taxydromiki or BoxNow, or with more than one company, we discuss it in the quote.
The myDATA connection is optional. If you issue a receipt or invoice for every order, WooCommerce connects to an e-invoicing provider and the receipt or invoice is transmitted without you entering it by hand. We set it up after talking to your accountant, because the right setup depends on how the business keeps its books.
- Card via Viva Wallet, Everypay or your bank, cash on delivery, bank transfer
- Shipping rates by zone, weight or order amount
- ACS, ELTA Courier, Geniki, BoxNow, with vouchers and tracking
- Optional transmission of receipts and invoices to myDATA
Supplier XML, Skroutz and marketplaces
If you sell products from suppliers who provide an XML or CSV file, as is common in electronics, cosmetics or homeware, automatic import is one of the most useful things you can have. Products, prices and stock update on their own at regular intervals, you set a profit margin per category or brand, and anything out of stock at the supplier is hidden from the store. Each connection costs from €150 + VAT per supplier, and the final price depends on how clean their file is.
The Skroutz feed is included in the €700. If you also want to sell on BestPrice (another Greek price-comparison site), Shopflix, Public (Greek marketplaces) or through Google Merchant Center, each channel needs its own feed, correct category mapping and consistent data, so nothing shows as available after it has sold out. This raises the cost, but it can raise sales a lot too if your products are in demand on price-comparison platforms.
- Supplier XML: from €150 + VAT per supplier
- Profit rules per category or brand
- Skroutz feed in the base price
- BestPrice, Shopflix, Public and Google Shopping on request
Features, languages and SEO: where prices start to differ
This is where quotes differ the most. Product filters, smart colour and size options, a fast checkout, wishlists, abandoned cart recovery emails, automatic post-purchase emails, coupons, product bundles, live chat and reviews. Not every store needs all of these from day one. We suggest you start with the ones you will definitely use and add the rest once you see what people buy.
A second language on an e-shop costs €200 + VAT, more than on a simple website, because products, categories, order emails and checkout pages are translated too. If you also sell abroad, we set up shipping rates per country.
An e-shop without an SEO structure is like a shop on a street with no passers-by: it will live only on advertising. The €700 includes basic SEO with Rank Math on categories and products: clean URLs, titles and descriptions, a proper heading structure, breadcrumbs, product schema and care with the duplicate content that filters and variations create. Loading speed isn't a luxury, because it's directly linked to how many people complete their purchase.
- Second language on an e-shop: €200 + VAT
- Abandoned cart, coupons, wishlist and filters as needed
- Basic SEO on categories and products with Rank Math
- GA4 with sales tracking from day one
The running costs of an e-shop after it's built
Many people ask how much the e-shop costs and forget that there are running costs too. The good news is that with WooCommerce you don't pay a monthly platform subscription or a percentage of sales, as with Shopify or Wix. The running costs are few, and we put them in front of you from the start.
Domain and hosting are free for the first year and then cost €100 + VAT per year. Card fees depend on the provider you choose and aren't hidden; they're part of ecommerce. If we use a plugin with an annual licence, for example for complex shipping rules, we tell you before we install it.
The most important running cost is maintenance. An e-shop that isn't updated starts to slow down, gets conflicts between plugins or breaks after updates. Support is free for the first 3 months. After that you can continue with a monthly package from €50 + VAT, which covers WordPress and WooCommerce updates, backups, security checks and small changes.
- Domain and hosting: free for the 1st year, then €100 + VAT per year
- Card fees: depend on the provider
- Plugin licences: only where needed, known in advance
- Maintenance: from €50 + VAT per month, after the 3 free months
What raises performance, not just cost
A well-built e-shop can bring organic traffic from Google every day, sell without you depending 100% on advertising, open your market to all of Greece and work like a salesperson around the clock. The mistake many people make is to see the e-shop as a cost. It's an investment only if it's set up so that it can perform.
SEO in ecommerce isn't a plugin: it's the right categories, text on category pages, filters that don't create chaos, and internal links. Google Ads bring sales quickly if the product pages convert, and managing them starts from €200 per month. Branding is the reason customers choose you without a second thought. And reviews, real photos and clear policies make visitors feel that others have bought before them.
For social media, our own tool TopSocial automatically posts your products to Instagram and Facebook, from €20 per month.
- Category SEO for steady traffic from Google
- Google Ads and Merchant Center for quick sales
- Branding and an image that inspire trust
- Reviews, photos and clear policies
